Professor Amit Bandyopadhyay
Prof. Amit Bandyopadhyay received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Texas atArlington in 1995. He joined the Center for Ceramics Research at Rutgers University for his post-doctoral training in 1995. In 1997, he joined the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) at WSU as an Assistant Professor and promoted to an Associate level in 2001, and to the full professor level in 2006. His research expertise lies with additive manufacturing of metallic and ceramic materials and their composites towards structural, bio- and piezoelectric materials. He has supervised/supervising 18 Ph.D. and 30 MS graduate students for their degrees in mechanical engineering, physics and materials science and engineering. He published over 300 technical papers including over 225 journal papers. He is inventor of 20 issued or allowed patents. He has edited 10 books. His research papers have been cited over 18400 times by various research groups and his current “H” index is 74. He has given over 160 presentations in various conferences, national labs and industries. He was Honored with many Awards.
